About the Author – Lisa Boulton

Always an artist, writer and caregiver Lisa Boulton successfully raised three outstanding sons. While doing so, she poured her skills and talents into her community.

Lisa’s work life began in the 1970’s as a production artist in her father’s advertising firm. She was attending art classes at Pepperdine University when she fell in love and decided to marry. A year later, her first son was born. When he began school she went back to college and studied psychology in an effort to understand human behavior – seeking a better way to navigate through life.

While raising her first son in Southern California, she worked in the movie industry as a stand-in on location productions, modeling, studying yoga, volunteering in her son’s school and remodeling an old 1940’s cabin into a beautiful lakeside house.

Many years later, in her second marriage, she had two more sons and began volunteering to teach art history in their schools. Seeing the need for more art in the school curriculum, she became the head art docent and was responsible for installing a permanent art program at both schools. She served as chair for the Parent Teacher Clubs in both schools and won awards for exemplary leadership. Lisa coordinated fundraisers for the local volunteer Fire Department. She participated in, and volunteered for the Barbra Schmitt- Millar Triathlon that provided event services for hundreds of attendees seeking to raise money for breast cancer research.

While her boys attended Nevada Union High School, Lisa  worked on the ’Every 15 Minutes’ campaign sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving to engage teens in the real life consequences of drinking and driving, and ’Grad Night;’ an event that provides graduates with a safe setting to party the night away.  In her spare time, Lisa took the skills she learned while working as a jeweler’s apprentice in the early eighties to develop her own style of jewelry utilizing the beautiful, mythological symbolism of ancient cultures.

Once her family was grown, Lisa began working as a Real Estate Associate – claiming awards for Top Listing Agent, Top Producer and All Stars Team. Real Estate provided an opportunity to further develop her relationship and professional skills. She discovered a talent for working with people under pressure while selling  and purchasing homes or land. Lisa skillfully listened to their needs and became a member of their support system through the transaction which often resulted in lasting friendships.
